Nikola Jokic led the Denver Nuggets to the best record in the Western Conference.
He was close to becoming the first center to average a triple-double for a full season in NBA history, falling just short of that goal.
Still, some doubted his status as one of the best players on Earth, but it’s impossible to argue with that after watching what he did vs. the Phoenix Suns.

Jokic joined LeBron James and Russell Westbrook as the only players to average a triple-double in a playoff series, cementing himself as the greatest player in Nuggets history.
The big man took it upon himself to make a statement against Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, taking them down in six games despite going against the oddsmakers’ favorite to win the NBA championship.
The knock on Jokic was his lack of playoff success, mostly that sweep during his first MVP season.
But this is the first time that he actually has a fully healthy supporting cast, and he could only do so much when he was on his own.
The Nuggets are now waiting for either the Los Angeles Lakers or Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, looking to punch their ticket to the NBA Finals for the very first time in franchise history.
If Jokic and company pull it off and win the championship, it would be hard not to put him in the top 10 of the most dominant big men in the history of this game, considering his résumé.
