At 5-23, the Cincinnati Reds are a disaster of a team.
The next-worst team, the Detroit Tigers, has three more wins than the Reds.
However, they are actually a pretty decent team on a specific day of the week.
C. Trent Rosecrans, who covers the Reds for The Athletic, tweeted that the Reds have a winning record on Sundays.
“The Reds are 3-2 on Sundays this year. (That means they’re 2-21 on the rest of the days),” he wrote.

That alone is not worth much given their disastrous showing as a whole, but hey, we are allowed to have fun with stats, right?
If you are playing the Reds on a Sunday, your victory might not be automatic.
If you are playing against them any other day of the week, however, you might as well be playing a Triple-A team.
The Reds Are In Bad Shape
While the Reds won their last game (on Sunday, precisely), they have dropped eight of their last ten.
Their run differential is, by far, the worst in Major League Baseball, at -79.
Their pitching has been atrocious, and the offense hasn’t been much better.
Ace Luis Castillo will make his 2022 debut today, giving the team at least a shot at respectability, and if Jonathan India returns to form after his injury and Joey Votto rediscovers his power stroke, they may end up avoiding being a complete disaster.
But those are a lot of ifs.
It would also help if the young starters were more consistent, of course.
However, most of the Reds’ problems stem from their ownership group.
We hope fans can soon see a team that represents them and makes them proud, but that likely won’t happen soon.
