The Carolina Panthers have unveiled their alternate helmet and it’s a thing of beauty.
The black helmet blends well with their black jerseys and the sleek design should make its replicas quickly sell out.
This new addition to the Panthers’ kit is made possible by the league’s approval of having secondary helmets.
Since then, teams like the New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals, and Houston Texans have unveiled their alternate headgear.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are hyping up their new helmets with this video.

The dramatic clip is set to Neoni’s “Darkside” as background music and it features safety Jeremy Chinn and defensive end Brian Burns.
They are seen to be unleashing their primal rage while wearing the black helmet.
The video’s narrator also said, “They say don’t let the darkness end. Maybe it’s always been there. Now, it’s time to let it out.”
Before the video ended, they announced that the Panthers will don the black helmets during their Week 10 game versus the Atlanta Falcons which is a Thursday Night Football game at their home turf, Bank of America Stadium.
Will The Black Helmets Help Them Become Competitive?
Having a new addition to their uniform could boost the team’s morale against the Falcons.
Meanwhile, playing at home allows them to feed off the crowd’s energy.
However, it’s also worth noting that the Panthers haven’t done particularly well while wearing black jerseys and black pants.
They’ve won only four of 18 games wearing all-black kits.
But as that tweet says, they hope that the black helmets could help reverse the trend.
Black helmet or not, it’s up to the Panthers players if they will compete or not.
No helmet could save their plight and end their four-year playoff drought.
