There is reason to believe that Tyreek Hill‘s departure will have an adverse effect on the Kansas City Chiefs.
That move might break their streak of four consecutive AFC Championship Games.
After all, he’s their deep threat and one long completion can change the game’s complexion.
Hill is also tough to cover given his speed that earned him the moniker “Cheetah.”
No one on the Chiefs’ roster can compensate for his skill which they might not replace anymore.
But in contrast, The Associated Press’ Josh Dubow suggests that Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will do well even without Hill.
Mahomes played 4 games w/out Tyreek Hill in 2019. He averaged 363.3 yards passing per game with 8 TDs, 0 INTs and a 108.9 rating in those games. https://t.co/ZN1YAjN2Xy

Dubow said, “Mahomes played 4 games w/out Tyreek Hill in 2019. He averaged 363.3 yards passing per game with 8 TDs, 0 INTs and a 108.9 rating in those games.”
In that year, Hill injured his shoulder in their season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He sat out Weeks 2 to 5 and returned against the Houston Texans in Week 6.
The Chiefs also won their games during that stretch by an average of nine points per game.
Meanwhile, their only loss was versus the Indianapolis Colts.
A Deeper Look At Mahomes’ Numbers Without Hill
Zero interceptions were the most impressive stat from Mahomes’ performances without his top wide receiver.
It was also during that stretch when Mahomes became the fifth player in NFL history to have at least 300 passing yards in each of his first five games of the season.
He started with 443 yards and four touchdowns against the then-Oakland Raiders and followed it up with 374 yards and three touchdowns versus the Baltimore Ravens.
In Week 4, he helped defeat the Detroit Lions with 24 completions for 315 yards.
Finally, he had 321 yards and a touchdown in their loss to Indianapolis.
With or without Hill, Mahomes can perform at an MVP level.
