NFL Insider Details Chiefs’ Plans At Receiver

After trading Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, the Kansas City Chiefs suddenly had to address their wide receiver situation.

It will be difficult to replace Hill who is arguably the fastest player in the league.

One completion from Patrick Mahomes to Hill improved the Chiefs’ winning chances instantly.

With the West Alabama alumnus gone, the Chiefs would have to look for a menacing deep threat.

They did sign Corey Coleman and Josh Gordon, but they are hoping that both wideouts will regain their talented form.

Likewise, Marquez Valdes-Scantling joined the Chiefs on a three-year deal but he’s not much more than a stop-gap solution.

JuJu Smith-Schuster is a slot receiver who will find success in short and intermediate routes.

However, The Game Day NFL host Jordan Schultz revealed that the Chiefs are not yet done tinkering with their receiving corps.

Even after acquiring MVS, make no mistake: #Chiefs not done replenishing WR room – via trade, FA or draft. I mentioned they’re excitement about Skyy Moore yesterday…

I’m told Jahan Dotson, Treylon Burkes, David Bell and Christian Watson all have big fans inside the KC building. https://t.co/vBjXTmTC4g

Schultz tweeted, “Even after acquiring MVS, make no mistake: #Chiefs not done replenishing WR room – via trade, FA or draft. I mentioned their excitement about Skyy Moore yesterday…I’m told Jahan Dotson, Treylon Burkes, David Bell, and Christian Watson all have big fans inside the KC building.”

He posted this update in response to his earlier tweet wherein he revealed the Chiefs’ interest with Laviska Shenault Jr.

The 23-year-old receiver from Colorado had at least 600 receiving yards in each of his first two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Aside from Shenault, the Chiefs can also use their massive haul of picks to get a wide receiver.

Most Picks In The 2022 NFL Draft

The trade with Miami increased Kansas City’s draft picks to 12.

They can turn those assets to an earlier pick by trading up.

There’s also an option of using the picks as-is.

Whether they trade or stay put, Skyy Moore from Western Michigan seems to be high on their radar.

Only time will tell if Moore, Dotson, Burkes, or Bell will make Chiefs fans not miss Hill.
