Aaron Donald spent 2022 contemplating retirement before he reached a contract extension with the Los Angeles Rams.
While fans were wondering if 2022 was the end of his career, they thought his new contract was a good reason for him to stay around.
However, NFL insider Adam Schefter spotted something odd on Donald’s Twitter account.
For a moment, the star defensive lineman had on his Twitter account how he was a “former NFL D lineman.”

While his retirement desires aren’t new, it’s shocking how he had this briefly on his Twitter account.
The shock comes from the extension he signed back in 2022.
With the deal, he got a three-year, $95 million extension.
Fans saw this as a commitment from the All-Pro defensive end.
However, his thoughts of retirement might be returning after his season with the Rams in 2022.
An ankle injury he suffered against the Kansas City Chiefs ended his season and might make him think about retirement again.
While the star defensive player has taken down the “former” part in his Twitter profile, it still is concerning that he posted this message.
It could signal his growing desire to retire from the NFL.
While he’s only 31 years old, he’s taken a beating on his body lately.
His past three seasons have seen him having an injury of some type.
The 2020-21 season saw him suffering a rib injury during the playoffs.
He also was hurt during the middle of the 2021-22 season with a knee injury, but didn’t miss a game.
With his latest injury ending his season, the message fans saw on Twitter might signal a decision he’s thinking about in 2023.
