The past several weeks haven’t been the kindest to Jimmy Garoppolo.
It was revealed that he was suspended from the NFL for using performance-enhancing substances, which caused the Las Vegas Raiders to cut ties with him.
Garoppolo was then a free agent, waiting for a team to sign him amidst the public struggles and embarrassment of being suspended.
While this could have brought him down, Garoppolo has tried to stay positive and has now signed a deal with the Los Angeles Rams.
He might only be a backup to Matthew Stafford, but if his recent comments are any indication, Garoppolo is excited about his new home.
As he mentioned in a video shared via the Rams’ Twitter account, “I just wanted to find a good situation, good people around, and I think I found it here.”

These comments aren’t necessarily meant for Garoppolo to take digs at his former organizations, but rather, he is extra excited about being on the Rams.
He gets to work with Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford, two of the most highly regarded people in the NFL, in their respective positions.
McVay is widely viewed as a top-five coach in the league, and Stafford’s career experience could be significant for Garoppolo as he is looking to take his next step.
Even if Garoppolo is a backup for the foreseeable future, the Rams saw something in him, which could be the jumping-off point he needs to regain any lost confidence and to be the best teammate he can be at this stage in his career.
