It’s official: Robert Sarver is going to give up his ownership of the Phoenix Suns.
Sarver has been under fire for more than a week now after a damning report from the NBA showcased a string of offensive comments and actions he made against his employees.
The league first fined him $10 million and suspended him for a year but that wasn’t enough according to many.
And now Sarver is looking to sell the team.
The Suns are considered an extremely desirable franchise in the marketplace and will have no shortage of high-level ownership candidates. As a warm weather destination in West, league executives always believed this could be a monster free agent destination with right ownership.

He won’t have a hard time doing so.
Adrian Wojnarowski summed up what makes the team so attractive to potential buyers:
“The Suns are considered an extremely desirable franchise in the marketplace and will have no shortage of high-level ownership candidates. As a warm weather destination in West, league executives always believed this could be a monster free agent destination with right ownership.”
He’s absolutely right: many high-end buyers will be looking to close a deal on the Suns soon.
Who wouldn’t want to purchase a team like this?
Successful Suns
The entire Sarver situation was a headache for the team and front office but, in some ways, it came at the right time.
That’s because the team has never been so popular nor had so much potential.
Just two seasons ago, the team made the Finals and they recently concluded a stellar regular season that saw them as the top seed in the West.
It is true that they haven’t won a championship ring yet but they are obviously poised for greatness and that makes them very enticing.
Owning any NBA team is a great investment and a huge opportunity.
However, owning this NBA team is even more special.
