Late last week, the Miami Marlins and Minnesota Twins pulled off a blockbuster deal.
The trade sent the reigning American League batting champion Luis Arraez to Miami in exchange for right-hander Pablo Lopez and two prospects.
As a result of the Marlins acquiring Arraez, Jazz Chisholm Jr. will shift to center field.
Arraez will slot in at the second base position, a position that was held by Chisholm in 2022.
Regardless of positions and who is playing where, the Marlins made a key move to strengthen their lineup.
On MLB Tonight, analyst Greg Amsinger, Chris Young, and Yonder Alonso discussed the implications of moving Chisholm out to center.

Young was adamant that this was not a good plan by the Marlins, citing the fact that several players are going to essentially be playing out of position.
Firstly, while Jean Segura has experience at the third base position, he didn’t play too many games there for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2022.
In addition to that, Arraez, who likely will win the job at second base, played only 41 games at second in 2022, primarily playing first base, while Joey Wendle played just 22 games at the shortstop position.
Young also talked about the shift being taken away and how it will impact the players.
Essentially, the entire infield, with the exception of Garrett Cooper, is going to have to make adjustments at new positions, when a lot of this could have been avoided by moving Cooper to the designated hitter spot and keeping Arraez at first.
