Miami Marlins left-hander Jesus Luzardo has emerged as one of the team’s top starting pitchers.
The 25-year-old has a career ERA of 4.59, but appears to be coming into his own as a pitcher.
This past season, Luzardo had a career-best 3.32 ERA.
But beyond pitching in the Major Leagues, Luzardo enjoys teaching the game to developing young baseball players.
On Monday, the left-hander gave back to his community and returned to his high school alma mater to teach young athletes about the nature of pitching and how to properly grip certain pitches.
Play Ball provided a video of Luzardo instructing the students on Twitter.

Luzardo asked the students why the four-seam fastball is best fastball to throw.
One student replied by saying because it moves in a straight line.
Luzardo then went on to explain why the pitch was like that and what it can do.
He explained that it is the typical grip for throwing a baseball and is typically used when players are playing catch in the outfield or even pitching.
However, he also explained that it is the last type of grip players want when throwing to bases.
He then asked if anybody knew how to grip a four-seam fastball and went on to explain how it’s done.
He provided the typical explanation of the “horseshoe” on a baseball and how that is the place that pitchers typically grip the ball.
Luzardo put on a clinic for these young students, who clearly enjoyed having him around.
