The Derek Carr era didn’t get off to the best start for the New Orleans Saints.
They were able to hang on and get the win, but they still should’ve fared better vs. the Tennessee Titans, especially with Ryan Tannehill throwing three interceptions.
The Saints forced four turnovers overall, yet they were only able to win by one point.
The offense needs to click.
The defense, however, has an opportunity to do something special, and CB Marshon Lattimore knows it.
Following their Week 1 win, Lattimore claimed that they’re looking forward to dominating and proving that they’re one of the best — if not the best — defensive units in the league (via theScore).

Dennis Allen is a defensive-oriented coach, and it definitely shows.
The Saints should have one of the most physical defensive units in the NFC, and that’s going to help them stay at the mountaintop of the NFC South, granted that they’re much better in that regard than any of their divisional rivals.
Their offense needs to make some tweaks, but they should fare much better once Carr gets a hold of the system.
Carr finished the game with 305 yards, one touchdown, and one pick, all while completing 23 of 33 passes.
This offense should fare better once Alvin Kamara is eligible to come back from his suspension, as even though he’s lost a step, he’s still going to open up so many more passing lanes for Carr and company with his perennial threat as a tackle-breaking machine out of the backfield.
