Madison Bumgarner has pitched for a long time, long enough for umpires to know that he is unafraid to speak his mind and does not care what others think of him.
On Wednesday, he made the start for the Arizona Diamondbacks in their game against the Miami Marlins.
However, after just one inning, where words were exchanged between Bumgarner and the umpiring crew, he was tossed from the game.
Bumgarner was seemingly frustrated with how a pitch that was previously called a strike ended up being called a ball the second time around.
The Diamondbacks were headed off the field when the home plate umpire called a ball.
After the inning was over, Bumgarner spoke to first base umpire Dan Bellino, who subsequently threw him out of the game, causing Bumgarner to throw a tantrum.

Mad Bum Goes Mad
This is a pretty epic tantrum.
Bumgarner is known to have these from time to time if he doesn’t like a call from an umpire.
He’s never afraid to dispute calls and wasn’t today.
But his rant after being ejected was one for the ages.
It took manager Torey Lovullo and several other teammates and coaches to restrain Bumgarner and get him back to the dugout.
You do have to admire the energy from Bumgarner.
He put a lot of energy into that rant and made sure the umpires knew he was not pleased with the way they called some pitches.
Bumgarner did not appear to make any contact with Bellino, but several expletives were dropped Bellino’s way.
Because there wasn’t any contact, it’s highly unlikely Bumgarner will be suspended, but he could receive a fine of some sort.
