A stirring season for the Cleveland Guardians has come to an end.
With a 5-1 loss in Game 5 of the ALDS, the Guardians bowed out as the New York Yankees punched their ticket to the ALCS.
There wasn’t much of anything expected from the Guardians in 2022.
They had a quiet offseason, with the only notable change being their team’s name.
But they managed to keep pace with the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins in the AL Central for much of the year before taking off and securing their first division crown since 2018.
Following their season-ending loss on Tuesday, the Guardians shared an important message to their fans.
The 2022 script was something special: the youngest team in baseball, a division title, and a 92-win season while peppering in some gritty come from behind wins and the emergence of some bright, young stars.

Guardians Share Message With Fans
The season may be over for the Guardians, but 2022 was full of excitement and there are several reasons why we likely will hear from the Guardians again in 2023.
They were the youngest team in all of baseball and cruised to 92 wins during the regular season.
They dismantled the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL Wild Card Series, winning both games in dramatic fashion.
They also battled from being down by a game in the ALDS to win Games 2 and 3, both of which were come-from-behind wins.
That put them one win shy of their first ALCS since 2016.
But the Yankees battled back and finished the job, sending the Guardians home for the winter.
But players such as Andres Gimenez, Steven Kwan, Oscar Gonzalez, Triston McKenzie, and Emmanuel Clase made their mark and let the game feel their presence.
This is a solid nucleus of players to build around Shane Bieber and Jose Ramirez, and it’s why the Guardians will be a team to watch out for in 2023
