The New York Mets are off to a blazing hot start.
They were busy this offseason, signing Max Scherzer, Starling Marte, Mark Canha, and Eduardo Escobar.
They also traded for Chris Bassitt.
This team has yet to reach the postseason since 2016, but early on, they are showing why they must not be overlooked.
This is a team that is good and ready to do some damage after owner Steve Cohen got busy during the offseason and brought in so much talent.
The team’s shortstop, Francisco Lindor, is also off to a hot start, which has been one of the key factors in New York’s success.
He had this to say when talking about his ballclub this year.
"We're the New York Mets. We've got a good team."

Mets Looking Good
He’s not wrong.
It may be early, but the Mets are looking pretty solid to start the season.
Jacob deGrom‘s injury doesn’t appear to have phased them in any way.
This team has high expectations and goals to be a championship-caliber club.
It’s been a long time, but the Mets should not be counted out.
Lindor is just simply expressing his confidence in his team, which is definitely warranted given their start.
Mets fans have to love what they’re seeing so far.
Why wouldn’t they?
They haven’t had much to cheer about since their last postseason appearance in 2016.
High expectations are nothing new for so many of these players, who are ready to apply their experience to this Mets team and take it somewhere it hasn’t been in a long time.
We’ll see if they can stay hot and prove to the rest of the baseball world whether or not they’re for real.
They certainly look the part.
