Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki is one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
Someone should tell him that.
Nowitzki, who has been retired for a few years now, isn’t above poking some fun at himself on Twitter.
Can’t be me. Too many bars on defense… https://t.co/3FspNd75fx

That’s what he did on Friday when he responded to a tweet from FIBA showing a full bar saying “offense” and a barely-filled bar saying “defense.”
The tweet asked followers to “name this player” and Nowitzki had some fun with it.
“Can’t be me. Too many bars on defense…” Nowitzki said.
Obviously, Nowitzki couldn’t be more wrong because he was a monster on offense and defense as well.
But it’s great to see him having some fun at his own expense.
Master Of The Mavericks
For his career, Nowitzki played 1,522 games and averaged 20.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.
To this day, he is still considered the greatest Maverick of all time.
Even today, his image is emblazoned on the Dallas court, forever cementing his status as the Dallas GOAT.
He still appears at many Dallas games and does some behind-the-scenes work for the team.
In fact, Nowitzki has been a part of the recent rise of star Luka Doncic.
Doncic is easily the biggest name on the Mavericks right now and was a huge part of their recent run in the playoffs, which found them making it all the way to the Western Conference Finals.
Nowitzki has helped Doncic with his shooting and overall play-making abilities.
In this way, the legendary German big man is still having a huge impact on the team he loves so much.
Still, that doesn’t mean he won’t take a few funny potshots at himself.
