Luka Doncic didn’t make the NBA Finals but there is no doubt that he and his Dallas Mavericks made it further in the playoffs than expected.
In fact, they shocked the NBA world by taking out the top-seeded Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference semifinals in a spectacular fashion.
This was a moment that proved to many just how great this team is.
And, more specifically, how great Doncic is.

Sure enough, Doncic has the most double-doubles in the playoffs, with 10.
That’s a wild stat and a number that no other player will be able to surpass.
In many ways, Doncic was the breakout star of this year’s postseason.
Now just imagine what he’ll do when the team around him is stronger.
Doncic And Dallas
Believe it or not, this was Doncic’s first time out of the opening round of the playoffs.
He’s been a terrific player in the league for a few years now but was always relegated to getting pushed out in the first round.
But now that he’s gotten a taste of a deep playoff run, he’s going to want more.
Yet, some other puzzle pieces might need to be moved in order to make that happen.
Right now the Mavs feel this close to being truly great.
Doncic is easily one of the best players in the league and there are some other stars on the roster but they still need something more.
There has been a lot of talk among Mavs fans about possible trades that could make the squad better and ready for next year.
It remains to be seen if Dallas makes the necessary moves to give Doncic even more help.
If they do, he might be setting more playoff records next year.
