The Phoenix Suns have probably never had as good a chance to win the NBA Finals as they do right now.
The recent acquisition of Kevin Durant just took them from contenders to favorites in the Western Conference.
This comes after years of the team competing hard and finding great regular-season success.
And it also comes just a few seasons after them being in truly horrible shape.
Devin Booker: "We were probably the laughing stock of the NBA about 4-5 years ago and just turning that around to something serious, to championships contenders, is a quick turnaround for us. We take a lot of pride in what we've built here."

Suns superstar Devin Booker commented on the progress of the team.
Speaking to the press, Booker looked back:
“We were probably the laughing stock of the NBA about 4-5 years ago and just turning that around to something serious, to championships contenders, is a quick turnaround for us. We take a lot of pride in what we’ve built here.”
The three-time All-Star then remarked on how their success landed them Durant:
"For this to be a destination that Kev wanted to come to is a big sign of that, to show respect of what we've done so far. We still have more to do but we're moving in the right direction."

Booker is absolutely right: the Suns used to be one of the worst teams in the league.
For example, their record during the 2018-19 season was a shockingly low 19-63.
Last season, they ended at 64-18, almost a complete turnaround from just a few years before.
Booker joined the team in his rookie year of 2015-16, so he has seen them at their lowest and highest moments.
He knows the sting of defeat and the joy of victory.
Yet, Booker and this Suns team still don’t know what it’s like to win the Finals, even though they came close a couple of seasons ago.
If the addition of Durant allows them to finally cross that ultimate threshold, the Suns will have been through one of the largest reconfigurations and transformations in NBA history.
