It’s easy to run out of adjectives to describe Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp‘s phenomenal 2021 season.

He flat-out dominated the opposition by leading the league in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns.

That feat made him only the fourth player in NFL history to win the wideout triple crown.

He also had 13 straight games of at least 90 receiving yards, an NFL record.

Kupp saved the best for last by becoming Super Bowl LVI MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

The Rams could have given him a lucrative extension as soon as the 2022 league year started.

However, he kept his patience a let other wide receivers sign their contracts.

In the end, the waiting game paid off, as shared by Spotrac.

Kupp tops the guaranteed money list for wide receivers at $75 million.

Trailing him are the Miami Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill and the Buffalo Bills’ Stefon Diggs.

That amount is also the highest given to a non-quarterback offensive player.

Kupp’s deal is part of the Rams’ offseason splurge which includes the acquisitions of All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner and wide receiver Allen Robinson.

They also gave Matthew Stafford a four-year, $160 million extension and made Aaron Donald the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league by adding more guaranteed money to his current contract.

Kupp Deserves Every Penny Of His New Deal

The former Eastern Washington standout played his heart out last season.

He played in all Rams games last season and was on the field for 95 percent of their snaps.

His efforts did not go unnoticed as the Rams locked him in before he could even explore free agency.

Without question, he will be one of the franchise’s cornerstones for the foreseeable future.

Likewise, wide receivers who are still looking for their big contract can point out the guaranteed money he got and use it as a bargaining chip.
