It looked like the New England Patriots would lose big in Week 1.
The Philadelphia Eagles had 16 unanswered points to start the game.
But the Bill Belichick-coached squad fought back, only to come up short.
Despite the loss, that performance had Colin Cowherd impressed with the Patriots.
“I think Mac Jones outplayed Jalen Hurts briefly in the second half. And I thought New England, of all the teams that lost last weekend, New England may have been the most promising team that lost. I thought they looked pretty good,” Cowherd said.

Jones did have better stats than Hurts during the season-opener, finishing with 35 completions for 316 and three touchdowns against a highly-ranked Philadelphia defense.
Conversely, Hurts had 22 completions for 170 yards and a touchdown.
Aside from praising the Patriots, Cowherd also likes their chances in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins.
The sports media personality argued that while Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has defeated Belichick in the past, he won’t be able to duplicate his Week 1 output against New England.
Tagovailoa torched the Los Angeles Chargers with 28 completions for 466 yards and three touchdowns.
But against Belichick, Tagovailoa has averaged 180 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions per game, amounting for an 88 passer rating.
The Patriots will have their hands full in slowing down Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill.
