The New York Giants look lost one game into the 2023 NFL season.
They went from a team that reached last year’s Divisional Round to being humiliated by the Dallas Cowboys.
No positives could be said about their opening-day performance because their division rivals dominated them in all phases of the game.
But Week 1 doesn’t determine an NFL team’s fate, giving the Giants much-needed time to regroup and regain the form that made them a playoff team.
Winning in Week 2 could get rid of the ghosts from their 40-0 meltdown.
However, Chris Broussard believes it’s not enough for the Giants to score more points than their Week 2 opponents.
Speaking to former NFL head coach Eric Mangini and Kevin Wildes on FS1’s First Things First, Broussard said, “I know in the NFL a win is a win. But the stench of 40-0 is all over the city. The only way to get it off is a blowout.”

For Broussard, it’s not enough for the Giants to merely win against the Arizona Cardinals.
Instead, their win must be as convincing as how Dallas buried them on opening weekend.
Struggling against the Cardinals, a team playing without starting quarterback Kyler Murray, will instill more doubt regarding the Giants’ ability to make a postseason return.
Therefore, it’s time for Daniel Jones to show he’s worth the massive contract extension he signed last March.
It’s time for their offensive and defensive lines to impose their will on Arizona.
A convincing win for the Giants would re-establish the swagger they lost.
