The New York Giants were embarrassed on national television in Week 1 as they were shut out by the Dallas Cowboys 40-0.
It was a sad effort from the Giants who turned the ball over and allowed the Cowboys to run away with the win in the first half.
New York figured to look much better than they did after making the Wild Card Round this past postseason, but they clearly have some issues they need to sort out.
To their credit, the Cowboys’ defense was firing on all cylinders as they suffocated Daniel Jones in the pocket and bottled up Saquon Barkley on the ground.
It’s just one game, but fans can’t be too encouraged about what they saw from the Giants.
Although New York has a great opportunity to bounce back in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals, Nick Wright believes that things could get dicey if they somehow lose via The What’s Wright Show.
“The Giants season is over if they lose to the Cardinals,” Wright said.

Wright’s comments can be taken as hyperbole, but it would be massively concerning if New York somehow found a way to lose to Arizona.
The Cardinals have every incentive to tank this season in order to land the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, so the Giants should be able to take care of business.
Arizona did manage to put up a good fight against the Washington Commanders last Sunday, but New York has more than enough to come away with the victory and right their season.
