Reporters sometimes have it tough when elements of nature impede with their work.
The same can be said for reporters in the sports world as well.
For St. Louis Cardinals reporter Jim Hayes, it was certainly a busy week.
On Monday, before the Cardinals began their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Hayes was swarmed with some bugs, one of which landed on his shirt.
However, Hayes kept on reporting despite the adversity.
But the struggles didn’t stop there.
The crew at Bally Sports Midwest pranked him with some fake bugs a day later.
On Twitter, the team’s TV home posted a hilarious montage of everything Hayes went through during the series.

On Wednesday, nature impeded once again as the skies opened up in Pittsburgh, causing a long rain delay.
With Hayes sitting in the stands, he had to quickly make it back to the Cardinals dugout.
The video also showed Hayes trudging through the rain with a microphone and briefcase in hand.
Needless to say, it was a long series for Hayes, and it all started with the bug on Monday night.
But the crew at Bally Sports wasn’t about to let that be the last he saw of the bugs.
Hayes came prepared the next day with a fly swatter as he batted the fake bugs on strings away from him while he was reporting.
And then, he weathered an actual rainstorm, which isn’t ideal.
But the Cardinals reporter certainly deserves credit for being able to work through everything.
