The offseason is in full swing, and strangely, there has been very little activity in the free agent market.
The same can be said for almost every team in baseball.
The St. Louis Cardinals entered the offseason in need of a catcher and an impact bat to make up for the losses of Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina.
However, there hasn’t been much activity from the National League Central division champions.
Cardinals fans are understandably a little frustrated by the lack of activity thus far.
On Twitter, one fan posted a hilarious meme to sum up the front office’s lack of activity to begin the offseason.

Cards Begin Offseason Quietly
After President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak stated that he planned on increasing the team’s payroll, fans have been expecting the front office to be busy.
Thus far, St. Louis has been relatively quiet, but this does not mean that moves aren’t coming.
Given the Cardinals’ lack of activity in recent offseasons, fans have grown impatient with Mozeliak and the front office.
But with the Winter Meetings right around the corner, Cardinals fans can most likely expect to see some moves take place in the near future, and if not now, at the Winter Meetings.
Mozeliak was clear in his end-of-season presser that the Cardinals were prioritizing adding a catcher to replace the retired Molina.
Unfortunately, and much to fans dismay, it might just take a little bit of time.
Again, this does not mean that moves will not take place.
The Cards have some glaring needs that will need to be addressed before the 2023 season.
