On Thursday of last week, Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina, two St. Louis Cardinals mainstays, made their 324th start together as a battery, tying the all-time record set by Mickey Lolich and Bill Freehan of the Detroit Tigers.
On Wednesday night, the two of them will make a start in front of a loud and raucous Busch Stadium and will break the all-time starts record.
The two of them have been at it for a long time and have experienced some great postseason moments together.
It was Wainwright and Molina who closed out the 2006 NLCS and World Series, with several other great moments also preceding them.

Waino, Yadi Set To Break All-Time Record
Who could’ve guessed that these two would still be at it in 2022 all those years ago.
So much talent has rolled through St. Louis while Wainwright and Molina have been around.
They’ve had a chance to play with guys like Albert Pujols, Matt Holliday, Jim Edmonds, Scott Rolen, Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, and so many others.
But Molina and Wainwright have been the two constants on each of the Cardinals great teams over the past decade and a half.
They were still young upstarts in 2006 when they won their first ring together.
Wainwright was a closer then, filling in for the injured Jason Isringhausen.
Fast forward 16 years later and the two of them are still arguably the best pitcher-catcher duo in all of baseball and will make some very important history very soon.
Fans at Busch Stadium will be on their feet cheering these two legends as they take the field for another memorable start.
The ballpark will be filled with such excitement as the two veterans give them another moment they’ll never forget.
