There are many underrated players in MLB, especially ones that play on less notable teams.
That is the case with Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zac Gallen.
He is one of the best pitchers in baseball, yet many fans may not even realize it.
Playing in Arizona certainly takes him away from the spotlight, but it is hard to argue with his stats.
Gallen has been dominant so far this season.
One thing that separates Gallen from the rest of the league is his strikeout-to-walk ratio.
He does an elite job of not giving away free passes.
That is difficult in today’s MLB.
As shared by Codify, Gallen has 64 strikeouts to only six walks this year.
64 strikeouts this year vs. only 6 walks! 😮

Those numbers are hard to fathom, as pitchers rarely command the strike zone that well.
Gallen is one of the favorites for the NL Cy Young Award through the season’s first month.
He has a 5-1 record and an ERA of 2.36.
Also, he is a big reason why the Diamondbacks are playing good baseball this year.
Arizona sits in second place in the NL West with a record of 20-15.
It will be interesting to see if they can sustain their early-season success across the whole season.
Gallen started his career as a member of the Miami Marlins, but he has since found a new home in Arizona.
The right-hander has been elite so far this season, and his dominance will play a large role in the Diamondbacks’ success this season.
