After trading superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets ahead of last season, the Green Bay Packers seemed like a team that could be headed for a rebuilding process, with no telling if Jordan Love was the real deal.
Fortunately for Green Bay, the move to trade Rodgers turned out to be the right one, with Love more ready to take over as the starter for the storied franchise than most people expected he would be.
As the result of Love turning it on in the second half of last season, the Packers went on to pull off perhaps the biggest upset in the NFL playoffs this past season by taking down the second-seeded Dallas Cowboys in the first round.
With the Packers being much closer to contention than once thought, the team was aggressive once NFL free agency got underway this week, as the team made some big signings, including bringing in safety Xavier McKinney, who took to Twitter to celebrate signing with Green Bay.
He had the perfect message: “Say cheese!”

Along with bringing in McKinney, the Packers parted ways with running back Aaron Jones to pave the way for the arrival of Josh Jacobs, formerly of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Needless to say, Green Bay sees a window of opportunity here and is seizing the moment with some big moves that will only improve the team’s chances of going the distance next season or in the near future.
It’ll be interesting to see how these moves pan out and whether Green Bay can continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC.
