The Houston Texans made some big moves in the offseason.
They gave CJ Stroud some more help on offense, but they focused more on the other side of the field.
HC DeMeco Ryans wants to instill his tough defensive identity on his team, and they brought in some veterans to help set the tone.
With that in mind, young star LB Will Anderson Jr. raved about these acquisitions, stating that they’re all high-character guys who are all about winning and developing a culture and not about being a celebrity or being in the spotlight and whatnot (via Aaron Wilson).
“I was very excited about it. I think the pieces they got were perfect pieces,” Anderson Jr. said.

Anderson claimed that he was looking forward to getting back to work with them ahead of his sophomore campaign.
The Alabama product was a standout in his first season in the league, running away with Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
Against all odds, the Texans were the most improved team in the league last season, and their combination of youth with experience has them in a position to be a legitimate threat for years to come.
Anderson Jr. could end up being one of the most impactful players in the league in no time, and having that kind of veteran leadership and mentorship by his side is only going to do wonders for his development.
Of course, they’re still a couple of pieces away from sitting at the Super Bowl contenders’ table, but this team is definitely heading in the right direction.
