The Golden State Warriors suffered a painful loss on opening night, falling 108-104 to the Phoenix Suns.
During that game, Stephen Curry and Chris Paul shared duties running the backcourt, and Paul produced 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists.
However, he seemed to get a bit banged up in the process.
Anthony Slater reported via Twitter that Paul had his right ring finger taped up after the opener and that it was still taped on Friday morning.
But Paul promised that he would be fine and wasn’t listed on the team’s injury report before their game against the Sacramento Kings.
Chris Paul had his right ring finger taped up after the opener. Has it taped up again at shootaround in Sacramento this morning. Said he will be fine. “Just bruised it.” Not on injury report tonight.

Fans of the team are now collectively holding their breath and hoping that Paul is really able to play on Friday night.
The team is already missing Draymond Green, who is a crucial part of the squad’s defense.
And the Kings are a very tough opponent, which means the Warriors will need to come out swinging and want all of their players in tip-top shape and ready to go.
Paul’s brand of sharpshooting and high basketball IQ could be a great weapon against Sacramento’s youth and stamina.
Paul is no stranger to injuries, so any physical ailment he suffers this season will be noted, no matter how small it is.
Although fans welcomed Paul to the team and trusted Steve Kerr when he said he’d fit in just fine, many were worried that his age and injury-prone past could impact him.
It is likely he will miss games at some point this season, but fans are hoping it doesn’t happen often or so early in the year.
Paul swears that he is ready to play and is just a little “bruised.”
Fans will see if he’s right on Friday night.
