The Golden State Warriors have been stuck in their situation with Jonathan Kuminga, unable to get anything else done this summer as that saga drags on.
But they still have their sights set on others, including a very popular forward from the New Orleans Pelicans.
“The Warriors are still showing interest in Trey Murphy III,” Jake Fischer recently reported.

Murphy has been doing great work for the Pelicans during his four years with the team.
He started with an average of 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds a game and has steadily gotten better, climbing all the way up to 21.2 points and 5.1 rebounds last season.
Murphy is exactly the sort of player the Warriors would love: young, capable, and willing to grow.
He could become a focal point of the team, especially after Steph Curry steps away from the game.
Murphy is contracted with the Pelicans through the 2028-29 season, which means he would come with a large contract.
That might scare away some teams, but if the Warriors see enough upside in him, they’d be willing to get it done.
There have been rumors of the Warriors sitting patiently and waiting until next summer to make a move.
That is when players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic could potentially be on the market.
It’s not clear if they would aim for a huge name like those two, and also Murphy.
For now, Murphy is still in New Orleans after missing a chunk of last season because of a shoulder injury.
He is hoping to look much healthier when the new year kicks off in a few weeks.
