Saquon Barkley is still at odds with the New York Giants, as he hasn’t been signed to a contract extension.
Barkley is slated to play under the franchise tag for the 2023 season unless a contract is inked before the season begins.
Despite this conflict, it appears that Barkley is wasting no time in the offseason, putting in significant hours at the gym.
Barkley has recently shared a weightlifting video, which, to our count, shows him back squatting 585 pounds.

Barkley has shared similar videos in the past, which demonstrate the raw strength and athleticism that he possesses.
He’s established himself as one of the most dominant running backs in the league, and his strength is a large contributing factor to that.
Despite this dominance, however, the Giants still haven’t signed him to a long-term deal.
This is a growing trend in the NFL, as players like Dalvin Cook and Ezekiel Elliott have been released by their respective teams.
Austin Ekeler, a similar caliber of player to Barkley, has struggled to gain ground with the Los Angeles Chargers in a similar situation.
However, in the case of Barkley and the Giants, the team has maintained that they are confident in their ability to strike a deal with him.
They’ve already signed Daniel Jones to a multi-year deal during the offseason, and Barkley is seemingly the next domino to fall.
Due to the dominant play of their division mates in the NFC East last season, the Giants will want to keep their foot on the gas to keep up.
Will that include an extension for Barkley in the offseason?
