The AFC South division was thought to be a division that would be owned by the Jacksonville Jaguars for many years to come, with superstar quarterback Trevor Lawrence leading the way for the team on the rise and the three other teams headed into a rebuilding process.
Ironically, the AFC South has been one of the best divisions in the league this season, with three teams in the division sporting an 8-6 record heading into Week 16.
The Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, and Houston Texans all have identical records, while the Tennessee Titans have been eliminated from playoff contention with a record of 5-9.
Outside of C.J. Stroud quickly becoming a star in this league with the Texans, the biggest surprise in the division has been the Colts’ ability to remain a competitive football team with rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson ruled out for the season early in the 2023 campaign.
With the playoffs still very much in play for the Colts, the team is seeing some good signs from star running back Jonathan Taylor, who is looking good at practice while not favoring his surgically repaired right thumb, via Brett Bensley of FOX59 News.
Not much bulk to Jonathan Taylor's right thumb. Looks like just a glove and maybe some light wrapping underneath. #Colts pic.twitter.com/8l5YhMfmHo

If Taylor can get back on the field on Sunday with the team set to take on the lowly Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis will have a very good chance of coming out on top and improving their chances of being playoff-bound.
Following this week’s matchup against the Falcons, the Colts will face the Las Vegas Raiders and Texans in the final two games of the regular season.
