Not so long ago, New York Jets youngster Zach Wilson vowed to ‘make life hell’ for whichever quarterback the team brought to compete with him.
Fast forward to today, and it seems like hell isn’t that bad after all.
If anything, it’s Aaron Rodgers, the one giving Wilson some pointers during training camp, as shown by a clip shared by Jets Videos.

Notably, this is the best thing that could’ve happened for the Jets and their future.
Wilson was dreadful in his second season in the league, up to the point where the team chose to start almost anybody over him and pursued a veteran quarterback with him still on the roster.
But as bad as he’s been to begin his career, he’s still quite young, and he grew up idolizing Rodgers.
Rodgers is still an elite quarterback in this league, but he won’t play for another decade or so.
His embracing a mentorship role for Wilson could be just what he needs to find his footing in this league.
Many quarterbacks need some time to develop and learn the ropes of the game on the sidelines before being ready to be thrown into the fire, and perhaps that’s what went wrong with Wilson.
It’s hard to think of a better mentor for any young quarterback than Aaron Rodgers, perhaps the most talented pure passer this game has ever seen.
And even if Wilson doesn’t make life hell for him, he’ll have no choice but to try and live up to his standards for as long as they share that QB room.
