The New York Yankees got off to a pretty bad start on Thursday night against the Houston Astros, falling into a 3-0 hole on Alex Bregman‘s home run off starter Jameson Taillon.

Thankfully for New York, they rallied to tie the game, but Houston struck back and took a 6-3 lead, which they carried into the bottom of the ninth.

Then with two on and nobody out, Aaron Hicks stepped to the plate against Astros closer Ryan Pressly.

With the count 1-2, Hicks took Pressly deep, and the Yankees tied the game.

The Yankees tweeted a video of Hicks’ home run, showing all of Yankee Stadium erupting at once as Hicks tied the game up.

Yankee Mystique

Things can change quickly in baseball.

The Yankees were down three in the bottom of the ninth with one of the game’s most dominant relievers on the mound looking to close the door and give the Astros a win.

But Hicks completely flipped the script with one swing of the bat and gave Yankees fans a reason to celebrate.

Shortly thereafter, Aaron Judge came up clutch and won it for New York as the Bronx Bombers completed yet another improbable comeback, defeating the Astros by a final of 7-6.

But Hicks sure lit a fire under the crowd with his home run.

Without that, Judge’s heroics would not have been possible.

And it’s cool to see the Yankee Stadium crowd get fired up like that thanks to just one swing of the bat.

They always talk about the ghosts flying around at Yankee Stadium and that famed Yankee Mystique, and that was on full display last night.

The ghosts came and haunted the Astros as New York rallied for yet another improbable win.
