While baseball is known as America’s pastime, MLB is looking to become a global game.
That is why they are sending the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals over to London for a two-game series starting on Saturday.
MLB has made it clear the London series is something they are hoping to do every year.
We have seen the NFL and NBA take their leagues abroad and they were very popular.
There is no doubt MLB will be well-received in other countries as well.
According to FOX Sports: MLB, the Cubs and Cardinals players are very excited about heading to London.
Seeing the sights and tasting the food is what has many players thrilled about this opportunity.
See you soon, London.⚾️🇬🇧

Also, after the World Baseball Classic, baseball has gotten a major boost around the world.
Many different countries were well represented in that tournament and it was a major success.
The series will be played at London Stadium where the dimensions may not be the same as most MLB stadiums.
It is safe to say we will see more home runs than usual playing at this smaller venue.
The left and right field walls are 330 feet, while the center field wall is only 385 feet from home plate.
It will be interesting to see how this series plays out as it is a big one for both teams.
Neither is having the season they were hoping for, but the Cardinals have been one of the most disappointing teams in baseball.
Maybe a trip across the pond is what they need to turn their season around.
