The San Antonio Spurs were taken down by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night because they were outplayed in many ways.
Perhaps the biggest disappointment of the game was the fact that Victor Wembanyama was essentially taken out of the game.
According to ClutchPoints, Wembanyama had the worst game of his young career.
He scored just 6 points and went 1-of-5 from the field, which are both career lows.
Although Wembanyama chipped in with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks, he wasn’t looking like his regular self.

This isn’t all that surprising because Wembanyama often has a tough time with the Thunder and their own talented big man, Chet Holmgren.
Holmgren scored 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks during the game.
He and Wembanyama constantly butted heads and went at it on the court, just like they had in previous games.
Many NBA fans and analysts believe we are seeing the beginning of a rivalry that may last for many years.
Holmgren sat behind Wembanyama in the race for Rookie of the Year last season and they are the two most promising up-and-coming big men in the league right now.
That means Wembanyama will have to figure out how to get around Holmgren in the years ahead because he isn’t going away.
So far this season, Wembanyama has averaged 16.5 points, 11 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game.
Just because he had one bad night doesn’t mean people think the rest of the season will be a struggle.
In fact, he’s still the frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year.
But if he wants to win that prize, he will have to examine what went wrong on Wednesday evening and correct it.
