The San Antonio Spurs got the ultimate gym rat in the NBA Draft.
Victor Wembanyama’s work ethic has always been one of the highest points scouts have talked about throughout his draft process.
And while — obviously — his physical traits and skill set were the main reason why he went No. 1 overall, he’s also known for paying a lot of attention to detail and being a hard-working young man.
That was evident again in a now-viral picture showing him and Spurs legend Tony Parker enjoying a film session during lunch.

Wembanyama grew up a Spurs fan because of their obvious ties to France, as Parker spent most of his NBA career there, and they also had Boris Diaw.
It’s not the first time he’s gotten advice from the legendary point guard, and it definitely won’t be the last.
The Spurs organization is making sure their prized rookie has all the proper guidance and tools he needs to fulfill his untapped potential, and he’s already met with several franchise greats, such as David Robinson, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobili.
They have a long track record of success developing their elite big men, and they will spare no effort when it comes to Wembanyama.
Likewise, it’s nice to know that he’s as committed to getting better and learning the ropes of the NBA game as they are in getting him up to date with the perks and demands of making it to the most competitive basketball tournament on the face of the Earth.
