For the second year in a row, Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is leading the league in blocks, with 3.8 per game.
That’s impressive enough, but Wembanyama is also blowing away the rest of the league in another way.
According to StatMamba, per Legion Hoops, Wembanyama now has more career blocks than 91.1 percent of all players in NBA history.
As a reminder, this is just Wembanyama’s second season.

Last season, Wembanyama posted 3.6 blocks per game, and this year he has stepped that up to 3.8.
That goes along with his 24.7 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
Since being drafted by the Spurs, all NBA fans have said Wembanyama could be one of the most dominant defensive players of all time.
His towering seven-foot-three height is imposing and allows him to guard just about anyone in the league.
Plus, he moves with great speed and his basketball IQ is clearly improving.
It’s not a surprise to see Wembanyama landing so many blocks per game and there is a good chance his numbers will continue to improve in the years ahead.
There is also a good chance of him winning Defensive Player of the Year this season.
Even with a lot of competition, many people feel he will claim that title and he may be close to being named MVP in the near future too.
The Spurs are definitely looking better than they did last season, and Wembanyama has improved his game in some pivotal ways.
His blocking skill is just one of the many ways he has gotten better.
