Gregg Popovich has been associated with the San Antonio Spurs since the 1988-89 season.
He originally joined the team as an assistant coach but left the team after four seasons.
Following a short stint with the Golden State Warriors, Popovich returned to the team in the 1996-97 season as the head coach and has handled the responsibility ever since.
Popovich has shaped the careers of some talented players, such as Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker, among others.
Fast forward to this NBA season, Popovich has been tasked with developing Victor Wembanyama, who is expected to be the next superstar in the league.
Playing under the coaching of Popovich is a dream come true for any NBA player, and Wembanyama recently shared his views on getting the opportunity via NBA on TNT on Twitter.
“I’ve always thought Pop was the best coach in the world, years before being drafted,” Wembanyama said.
