The Green Bay Packers were expected to go through a possibly painful rebuilding process when they traded future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers last April.
But after some initial struggles in the 2023 season, they won six of their last eight regular season games and then upset the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round of the playoffs, and thus the future is bright for them.
While they lost Aaron Jones in free agency, they scored a big win on Thursday when, per Jordan Schultz, AJ Dillon agreed to a new contract to remain with the Packers.

For the last several years, Green Bay has featured the tag-team duo of Jones and Dillon at running back, and Green Bay decided to stick with Dillon, the younger of the two.
He ran for 613 yards and two touchdowns in 2023, and the year prior, he went for 770 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.
Dillon’s new partner in the backfield will be Josh Jacobs, Green Bay’s big free agent pickup thus far who led the NFL in rushing yards during the 2022 season.
Jordan Love is the new man under center for them, and he earned rave reviews due to the way he closed out the 2023 campaign while starting to look like a legitimate franchise signal-caller.
They have a crew of young wide receivers who started to show promise a few months ago, including Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs.
It isn’t time for cheeseheads to make plans for the Super Bowl yet, but that destination could be in their future, something that seemed unthinkable as recently as November.
