Incoming rookie V.J. Edgecombe could make a huge difference for his Philadelphia 76ers.
But how much success will the team find in 2025-26?
Speaking at this year’s Summer League, Edgecomeb made his “main goal” clear and gave hope to all Sixers fans.
“I feel like we have a chance to go to the finals, so I’m ready. I want to win a championship. Yeah, that’s my main goal,” Edgecombe said, via NBACentral.

Last season was a complete nightmare for the Sixers, so the goal of reaching and winning the Finals is major.
It’s not impossible, but it’s certainly improbable.
Of course, if the team stays completely healthy, it could be one of the best in the East.
No one should count this squad out if Joel Embiid, Paul George, Tyrese Maxey, Jared McCain, and others are at 100 percent.
It just feels like they are never healthy and strong at the same time.
Edgecombe brings a ton to the team, especially with his two-way talent.
He could put pressure on opponents and make a large impact on both ends of the court.
Plus, he is obviously very excited to play for this team, despite the rough times they just went through.
He has a great spirit and a deep well of skills, some of which he showed off in the Summer League.
It’s not always easy for a rookie to convert from college to the big leagues, but it does happen, just like it did for McCain last season.
Will Edgecombe deliver and give the Sixers exactly what they need, helping them climb out of the rut they are in?
