The New Orleans Saints got some stellar play from Tyrann Mathieu last season.
The Honey Badger looked to enter another chapter in his roller-coaster career after not feeling valued and appreciated enough by the Kansas City Chiefs.
He did what several athletes have done when they needed to restart and refresh and went back home to play in the Big Easy.
Notably, Mathieu got involved with the community right away, and it was clear that he just needed to feel that love again.
That happened again last night as he traveled all the way to Orlando to be in attendance at LSU’s season opener vs. FSU (via Yahoo Sports).

Mathieu has always been quite supportive of his Alma Mater, and with the Tigers kicking off a new era after sending plenty of talent to the NFL, they needed all the support they could get to get revenge over the Seminoles.
Unfortunately for LSU, that wasn’t the case, as they fell flat in the second half and lost 45-24.
The game wasn’t as lopsided as the final score, as they were actually leading 17-14 at halftime.
The Seminoles rallied with a 31-7 second half and made the most of the Tigers’ defensive miscues.
They definitely could’ve used Mathieu on the field to try and stop Keon Coleman, who went off for 122 yards and three touchdowns on nine catches.
Mathieu will hope the Saints don’t have a similar fate when they kick off the season on Sunday with an inter-conference showdown vs. Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans.
