The Cincinnati Bengals haven’t had their best player on the field for most of training camp and preseason.
Joe Burrow suffered a calf injury and was promptly ruled out, and he won’t be back on the field until he’s as close to 100% as he can be.
Needless to say, missing that much time could mess with his rhythm, and most players would need a week or two to shake off the rust and be back to their best.
That’s not the case with a guy like Joe Burrow, though, which is why his WR Tyler Boyd isn’t worried about him at all:
“Whatever. It doesn’t matter,” Boyd said, per ProFootballTalk. “I’ve got years under my belt with him. Whatever play we call, I know what he’s expecting me to do and where I’m supposed to be in any coverage. So I’m pretty locked in on the chemistry. Just put him out there, we’ll make it work.”
Tyler Boyd thinks it'll take "about one drive" for Joe Burrow to get back in rhythm. https://t.co/w3XRKwsDid

Boyd believes one drive is all it will take for Burrow to get his legs back under him, and truth be told, that might be the case.
Burrow has been one of the most efficient passers in the game since he entered the league, and it’s not like he’s going to play with some new teammates or anything.
His offensive line is coming back, and so are his star wideouts.
The Bengals boast one of the best passing games in the league, with Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and the aforementioned Boyd wreaking havoc in the open field.
Few quarterbacks are able to hit their receivers in stride and put them in a position to thrive as easily as Burrow does, and he has three solid playmakers that’ll make his job quite easy once he’s ready to be back on the field, whether it’s in Week 1 or later.
