Justin Verlander is one of only six pitchers with three or more no-hitters in their careers.
But it’s now time to take a trip down memory lane and recall Verlander’s first no-no.
It came back in 2007 when he was with the Detroit Tigers, who were defending their American League championship from the prior season at the time.
Verlander was still a young pitcher at the time and was blossoming into one of the game’s best and brightest stars.
In this game, Verlander made a start against the Milwaukee Brewers.
It took place on this date 16 years ago.
On Twitter, MLB on FOX celebrated the anniversary of Verlander’s first no-hitter by posting a video of the final out on Twitter.

At the time, the Brewers had a lineup that featured Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun.
However, that didn’t bother Verlander, who carved his way through the Brewers attack and forever etched his name in the history books.
Verlander was also only 24 years old at the time.
He struck out 12 batters in the game, which at the time was a career-high.
He also threw a total of 112 pitches.
Better yet, it was the first no-hitter ever to be thrown at Comerica Park in Detroit.
Verlander obviously would throw two more no-hitters in his career.
On May 7, 2011, he did it against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Eight years later on September 1, he no-hit the Blue Jays again, this time as a member of the Houston Astros.
But this was the first of the three, and it’s a moment that lives on in Tigers history.
