13 years ago on this date, the Detroit Tigers were subjected to one of the most infamous moments in the history of professional sports.
Right-hander Armando Galarraga took the mound for the Tigers against the Cleveland Indians and came to within one out of a perfect game.
But on a ground ball to first base, Galarraga raced to the bag to record the out and got there in time to secure the perfect game.
However, first base umpire Jim Joyce ruled the runner safe.
To this day, the Tigers and their fans are haunted by this moment and what could have been if Joyce had made the correct call.
On Twitter, the Tigers posted a series of hilarious memes to sum up their feelings about that fateful day.

One of the memes was the famous headache meme, where the different types of headaches are listed before the biggest one of them all comes up.
For the Tigers, it’s remembering that day and what could have been.
The meme featuring Mr. Incredible was also shown, with the picture of the character in color depicting fans who don’t know about that day, and the black-and-white picture depicting those who remember it.
Another meme about ways to deal with pain is featured.
For some fans, it’s a moment that is replayed in their heads time and time again.
It’s a moment that is remembered with such clarity that some simply live with the pain.
Galarraga never got an opportunity to throw another perfect game, and Joyce ultimately made a tearful apology for getting the call wrong.
