For the last few weeks, there has been a lot of talk about load management in the NBA.
Numerous headlines have cast a bad light on this practice of resting players despite not being injured as a way to keep them healthy and relaxed for the duration of the long season.
Throughout the internet, fans have highlighted images and stories of fans spending hundreds of dollars and traveling countless miles only to miss out on their favorite players.
We don’t know if the NBA brass is going to do anything about load management in the near future but more and more players are addressing it.
"All the guys sitting, resting. That's the only thing I probably don't like. Just play, man. If you 80%, you gotta play. I don't like all the sitting, missing games stuff. These people might have enough money to come to one game. And that might be the game pic.twitter.com/I4FhjPJnmY… https://t.co/umqf5hzyHn

For example, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is no fan of load management.
Speaking during the All-Star Game Media Day this weekend, Edwards was quite honest about his dislike of the coaching tactic:
“All the guys sitting, resting. That’s the only thing I probably don’t like. Just play, man. If you 80%, you gotta play. I don’t like all the sitting, missing games stuff. These people might have enough money to come to one game. And that might be the game they come to and you sitting out.”
This is a sentiment shared by many fans.
They want the stars to perform as much as possible, even if they aren’t at 100% physical power.
Despite cries for change, no one is sure if load management is going away.
The league could shorten the length of the season or penalize teams that practice load management but they haven’t suggested they will do either.
However, if more players like Edwards are asked about it and raise their voices, the chances of change are higher.
It looks like this hot-button topic isn’t going away anytime soon.
That means that by the end of the season, you can expect NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to say something substantial about it.
