The Milwaukee Bucks were the hottest team in the NBA before the All-Star break.
Khris Middleton is slowly working his way back from a season-long nagging injury, while Brook Lopez is on the verge of a Defensive Player of the Year kind of campaign.
Jrue Holiday has been outstanding on both ends of the floor as per usual, but unsurprisingly, most of their recent success has to be credited to Giannis Antetokounmpo.
That’s why they sounded off the alarms when the Greek Freak seemingly hurt his wrist in the last game vs. the break when they were facing the Chicago Bulls.
Giannis barely played in the All-Star Game to give the injured wrist some rest, fueling speculation about whether he’ll miss more time down the line.
That’s why ESPN insider Brian Windhorst shared a major update on Giannis’ status, stating that he’ll get the final word on whether play through the injury or give it some rest:
“I don’t think there’s a fear that this will be an injury that could threaten their season,” Windhorst said on Get Up. “But there may be one of those situations where we often see a player will have to decide whether to play through an injury or to give the injury rest. And we’re in a little bit of a gray zone right now because we’ve got like 30 games left in the season — you could rest it, or you could play through it and risk re-injury again.”

Giannis has been known for his durability and health, and he’s never hesitated to share his thoughts on load management or not playing when he’s healthy.
Judging by his personality, we can predict Giannis will want to play through it.
However, he might want to take a bigger-picture approach here, as the Bucks are a lock to make the playoffs and will need him to be as close to 100% as he can possibly be.
They’ll be contenders for as long as he’s healthy, so he’ll have a tough decision to make in the next couple of days.
