The New York Giants won on Sunday over the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 45-33, but they actually lost in a much more important way.
Because of that victory, they no longer have a chance of getting the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft, and it has been one more thing that has gone wrong for them during this miserable season.
However, they still could be able to draft a quarterback such as Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward, depending on where they land on the draft board and what the team or teams ahead of them do before New York is on the clock.
But former Giants star running back Tiki Barber urged the team’s frustrated fans to stop “obsessing” over drafting a QB while implying that the team doesn’t have the infrastructure to help a rookie signal-caller succeed, per WFAN Sports Radio.

New York badly needs at least a competent quarterback — Daniel Jones, the No. 6 pick in the 2019 draft, never panned out, and after he was released, Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito haven’t shown much.
While Barber has a good point about the need to put a rookie QB in a decent situation, a strong argument could be made that New York should draft a QB if they’re very impressed with him and simply have him sit as a rookie if needed.
They have a possible stud in rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, as well as some stars on their defensive front seven, but that true franchise quarterback is needed if they are to get out of the NFC’s basement.
