After two disappointing seasons with the Denver Broncos, it seems that superstar quarterback Russell Wilson has outstayed his welcome in the Mile High City, with all signs pointing to the team wanting to part ways during this NFL offseason.
The Broncos seemed to tip their hat regarding their intentions with Wilson when they benched the one-time Super Bowl champion late in the season when the team was still in contention for a spot in the NFL playoffs.
Obviously, this rubbed Wilson the wrong way and was a strong indication that the Broncos franchise was ready to move on from the veteran quarterback, as he was unable to move the needle for Sean Payton’s team.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Broncos will likely cut Wilson at some point next week, making him an unrestricted free agent and able to sign wherever he wants during NFL free agency.
The Broncos made it very clear the Russell Wilson chapter will be over soon.
Around the league, people believe Denver will cut him by next week, per @DMRussini.

As unfortunate as it is that this experiment in Denver didn’t work out, it seems that this parting of ways will be good for both sides, with the team going nowhere with the veteran as their starter moving forward.
Once the Broncos cut Wilson, the speculation about his immediate future will kick into high gear, with a few teams potentially in the running to sign him during the offseason.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are a team that has been constantly mentioned as a good fit for Wilson, as well as the Atlanta Falcons, with both teams looking for a veteran quarterback to come in and lead them into the postseason.
