The Washington Wizards faced off against a surging Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night and they couldn’t have matched up with that team at a worse time.
Washington was on a two-game losing streak after being defeated by both the Charlotte Hornets and Brooklyn Nets.
They were wanting to stop the skid and earn a much-needed win.
They didn’t.

The Lakers and especially Anthony Davis put the Wizards to shame and beat them, 130-119.
It was a tough loss for a number of reasons but the biggest was this: the Wizards are now 1-6 in their last 7 games.
Things have just not been coming together for the Wizards so far this season.
Beaten Badly & Beal’s Brief Ballgame
The Wizards lost Bradley Beal early in the first quarter of their game against the Lakers after he suffered a right hamstring strain.
We don’t know what’s next for Beal or how much time he will need off the court but the Wizards don’t want to move forward without him.
Individually, several players for Washington have been doing quite well this season, such as Kyle Kuzma and a revitalized Kristaps Porzingis.
But that hasn’t been enough to give the team many victories and they currently stand at 11-13 and 11th in the East.
Will the Wizards be able to turn things around?
Every team hits rough patches at times but it seems like the last few seasons have seen far too many of them for Washington.
What will it take to give them a strong playoff presence again?
Will the team need to deal away Beal (who has a no-trade clause) or another superstar player?
Fans of the Wizards are tired of seeing this team struggle but they’ve sadly gotten used to it.
