For the last 10 years, Bradley Beal has played in the NBA and for the last ten years, he has played for only one team: the Washington Wizards.
During that time, Beal has had three All-Star appearances, was named All-NBA in 2020-21, and All-Rookie back in 2012-13.
He has put up 22.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists since joining the Wizards all those years ago but the team has struggled to meet the playoffs and have much success in the postseason.
Many people have wondered why Beal has stuck around for so long with little to show for it.
Bradley Beal explains why he re-signed with the Wizards
“There were no teams in the market, free agency-wise. I’m just being frank. There was nowhere else for me to go where I can be like, ‘Oh, I can go win.’”

It feels like every summer, there is talk of Beal possibly being traded away from the Wizards but that never ends up happening.
He recently opened up about re-signing with the team again:
“There were no teams in the market, free agency-wise. I’m just being frank. There was nowhere else for me to go where I can be like, ‘Oh, I can go win.’”
Beal certainly was frank with that statement, which isn’t a ringing endorsement of his team.
What’s next for Beal and his Wizards?
Riding With The Wizards
Beal is once again leading the Wizards, averaging 22.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 5.4 assists a game.
As for the Wizards, they are 11th in the East right now with an 11-13 record.
There is more talent on the team: Kyle Kuzma has found his footing in DC and Kristaps Porzingis is having another breakout season.
Still, few people see the Wizards as true playoff contenders.
This is a problem that has plagued the team for years and yet Beal has stuck it out through it all.
Some people see it as loyalty, but Beal’s recent statement suggests that he could leave if he felt he would find more success with another squad.
Beal currently has a no-trade clause in his contract which means he isn’t going anywhere unless he signs off on it.
How much longer will he ride or die with the Wiz?
